Beginners

Start your journey

Beginners are always welcome! Didcot Taekwon-Do offers regular classes on Monday and Thursday evenings (Adults) and Friday evenings (Children only) at Didcot Leisure Centre. Here at Didcot TKD, our classes are varied and include regular opportunities to develop your physical fitness, flexibility whilst learning this fantastic Korean art of self-defence.

We teach real and original ITF Taekwon-Do, including patterns, sparring, self-defence (Ho sin sul), destruction (breaking) and also Taekwon-Do terminology. If you want to meet new people while learning to defend yourself and your family, give us a call and come and have a go!

Learning environment

All classes are conducted in a safe environment that is constantly monitored by Grandmaster Miller and fellow instructors, who are trained professionally and all qualified to assess risk through our governing body the British Taekwon-Do Council (BTC).

Teaching methods

The Taekwon-Do syllabus is a structured programme that will take you form novice to advanced and beyond at your own pace. We will motivate you along your Taekwon-Do journey and help you achieve your goals, whether you are wanting to earn your black belt, compete on a national/ international level, learn effective self-defence or simply improve your fitness.

Equal opportunities

The founder of Taekwon-do, General Choi Hong Hi said “Taekwon-Do is for Everyone.” As a global art, we are inclusive and welcome people from all faiths, religions and ethnic backgrounds. Additionally, Taekwon-Do has been proven to support people with learning disabilities by improving concentration and co-ordination while helping to develop social skills. Age is also not a factor- here at Didcot TKD our students range in age from 5 to 65 years old!
